Abstract

For 89 days, 64 common carp of mean initial weight about 12 g in 8 tanks at 22 to 25C were given at 5% liveweight per tank daily roughly isonitrogenous pelleted diets containing 25, 50, 75 or 0% incubator waste meal at the expense of commercial feed (Carpil). Daily weight gain, final weight and apparent feed and protein efficiency were highest with the diet containing 75% waste meal with metabolizable energy at 8.01 kcal/g protein. High dietary Ca with waste did not affect survival or carcass composition. Water quality indices were satisfactory.
