Description 
An annual up to 45 cm high with numerous relatively soft stems. Grows on partially denuded grassland, on bare ground, at roadsides and as a weed on arable land. One of the first pioneer grasses to appear on denuded land in semiarid areas. Suitable for reseeding denuded pastoral land in arid areas.
